Blue-Black and other Short Stories

Blue-Black and Other Stories by Alex Alcasid contains six short stories, two of which have been published previously in The Philippines Graphic Magazine. “Midnight” was published in the November 16, 2015 issue, while “Blue-Black” was published in the July 25, 2018 issue, and garnered an Honorable Mention at the 2018 Nick Joaquin Literary Awards.

These short stories are only a chosen few from a collection of fictional pieces that have been conceptualized, shaped, and written through the on-going experience of the author’s life.

They run the gamut of the fantastical and improbable: an old diver gives a warning against foolhardy adventurers; love can last far longer than one might think; and something as simple as a sound can stick in one’s memory in weird ways.
